A True Phan

This spring I decided that I wanted to truly become a Phillies fan. Obviously, since my parents and brother are die-hard fans, I also was :)

However, instead of being a poser, I wanted to actually get into the games and the team. I'm proud to say that I am now a true fan. A "static sticker on my car, hat on my head fan." My fam makes fun of me because I get into the game and will yell at the tv and I am frequently asking when they are playing. That's also the beauty of having a Dad who adores the Phillies. He knows ALL things about them.

I felt like I was no longer a poser after I went to a game last month. That is when Cliff Lee became my favorite pitcher and Dominic Brown (or Dom as I affectionately call him) became my favorite player. Although, I do like them ALL.

Michelle & I excited before the game

After the win

We Won!!

We had a blast: great seats, great food, and best of all a great day spent with Michelle and our dads.

Now it's time for me to go watch the Phillies trump the Giants!

For the Love of Coffee & Tom Hanks

You may find it funny (I do) that when I started working at the coffee shop that I now own, I didn't even drink coffee. I didn't like the taste. HA!

For some reason, even though I dreamed of having my own cafe since I was fourteen, my taste buds weren't coming through for me in the coffee area.

Oh, how times have changed. This morning as I was making a drink for a customer, I inhaled the delicious fragrance of espresso. So.GOOD.

I'm so happy that I enjoy coffee now. So is my Mother. Finally, one of her offspring loves coffee as much as she does. :)

(These pics were taken by my talented employee, Lindsey)

I also have a love of Tom Hanks ie: his movies. I don't actually know much about him outside of movies, but I sure do love them. Considering that my two fav chick-flicks are Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail, I'd say he's a good one.

Last night, I went to see his new movie, Larry Crowne. Such a great, simple movie that made you laugh. It wasn't a typical chick-flick, a la You've Got Mail, but it was sweet. You should watch it.

It also has Julia Roberts so really, ya can't go wrong.

The movie also had a "Scooter Gang."

Be still my heart. I want one.

Five.

My "Baby" Avery turned FIVE recently. Is it weird to feel old when your nieces and nephews have birthdays?

When your only 25.

Anyway, we had a little family celebration for Avery and she LOVED it of course. Nothing like being around little kids to find joy in the small things in life.

Hanging out with Anna (who is turning SEVEN soon...ahhh!)

Summer

This Memorial Day weekend, as my whole family is away at the beach and I am here at home, I'm tempted to...well...pout! (wouldn't you?!)

However, I choose to enjoy the quiet, time spent with friends, & a delicious Sunday afternoon.

I also want to reflect on this tidbit:

SUMMER.IS.HERE
.

Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.

Vacation

A couple of weeks ago, my BF Jenny traveled with me to the sunny land of Florida.

One word to describe the few days we were there:

FABULOUS.
No seriously. Every time we stepped out of the darling house that my parents rented for the time there, we just sighed and exclaimed how fabulous it all was.

The Sunshine.

The 80 degree temperature.

The CLEAR blue sky.

The white sand.

The blue blue BLUE water.

All.of.it.

Now I'm back in wonderland of beans and SNOW on April 1st. HA!

56.7 customers mentioned how it was such a GREAT April Fool's joke.
56.7 times I "heartily laughed" at their joke.

Yeah.....

However, SPRING is coming I can just taste it. That's why Lancaster is so great to live in. We've got all four seasons so we can truly APPRECIATE each new one that stumbles it's way into our lives (even though Spring seems to really take it's time!).

Happy Mid-Week, y'all!

The Photo Shoot pt. 2

So my previous post mentioned a photo shoot. Well the results of that fun, fine day are out! (you can read the magazine online and it's on page 106)

The story is this. Several shops in the area are taking part in a little contest. Come up with a drink that the proceeds of the sale of said drink will go to Schrieber Pediatric in Lancaster.

So not only is it fun for us, tasty for the customers, but it also is benefiting a great organization.

So if you are in the area, YOU MUST stop by to try our Cinnamon Sting Latte. The shop that sells the most of the drink "wins." It's quite delicious if I do say so myself....which I just did.

O That's Fun

What's fun you may ask? Well, here are few that occurred to me in the last few hours and a couple that will most likely happen in the NEXT few hours:

  1. Coming home to a quiet house, wrapping myself in a blanket.
  2. Reading a magazine while wrapped in said blanket.
  3. The NAP that obviously followed reading a magazine while wrapped in a blanket.
  4. Listening to Pink Martini on Pandora (with a song named Triptango {The Trip Hop Remix} how can you not have fun?)
  5. The cup of coffee that I will have on my way to do number 6.
  6. Meeting up with Bec & Kels, two of my bests, to have a girl's night. (It's been a couple weeks, so you KNOW it's going to be a fun time!).

Obviously, as you can see from my list, it doesn't take much for me to have fun :)

Happy FUN Friday!!
